Greenville Gas Turbine Employees Federal Credit Union was formed in 1976 to provide General Electric employees in Greenville, South Carolina with access to affordable financial services. This dedicated group of people worked to create a member-owned, financial cooperative that was and still continues to operate for the benefit of those within its field of membership.

In 2015, the board of directors for the credit union officially changed the name to Turbine Federal Credit Union to position the organization for future growth. Since it’s inception, the credit union has expanded to serve not only the employees of GE in the Greenville area but to their contractors, vendors and family of existing members.

As we look forward to the future, Turbine Federal Credit Union is looking to expand it’s field of membership even more to other manufacturing companies as well as their suppliers in the Upstate of South Carolina. In addition, the credit union is expanding product and service offerings to meet member needs’.
